As a member of your Thermoplastic Crew, you’ll work alongside experienced team members completing pavement marking projects throughout our service area.
We’re looking for experienced Thermoplastic Crew Members and a hands-on Working Supervisor to join our thermoplastic team. If you have thermoplastic experience or have overall construction experience, we want to hear from you.
For a Working Supervisor position, we’re looking for an experienced field leader who can lead a crew while continuing to work alongside them. This role is responsible for the day-to-day operation of the crew — including job layout, thermoplastic application, equipment operation, safety, quality, training, scheduling, and communication with our Project Management and Superintendent team.
What You’ll Do
Responsibilities may include:
- Install thermoplastic pavement markings on roadway and other projects
- Assist with job setup, layout, equipment, and other day-to-date project responsiblities
- Operate thermoplastic and pavement marking equipment
- Read plans and assit with job layout
- Complete lines, symbols, legends, crosswalks, intersections and other pavement marking applications
- Ensure work meets project specifications and D.E. Gemmill quality standards
- Maintain equipment and help ensure trucks and materials are ready for each shift
- Set up and maintain traffic control for roadway and intersection projects
- Place signs, cones, channelizers and other traffic-control devices in accordance with applicable requirements
- Assist with flagging operations and maintaining safe work zones around live traffic
- Work safely and efficiently as part of a field crew
We’re looking for an experienced, hands-on Working Superintendent to lead a Parking Lot / Short Line Striping Crew. This is a field leadership position for someone who knows the work, takes pride in the trade, and is ready to lead a crew while continuing to work alongside of them.
As a Working Superintendent, you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day operation of your crew — from job layout and striping to safety, quality, training, scheduling, and communication with our Project Management and Superintendent team.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and work alongside a parking lot / short line striping crew
- Operate pavement marking and striping equipment
- Read plans and perform job layout
- Complete parking lot, stencil, ADA, crosswalk, intersection, and other pavement marking applications
- Ensure work meets project specs and D.E. Gemmill quality standards
- Train, mentor and develop crew members
- Coordiante daily job-site activities and keep projects moving safely and efficiently
- Communicate field conditions, project progress, challenges and material/equilpment needs to management
- Maintain equipment and help ensure trucks and materials are ready for each shift
- Set up and maintain traffic control for roadway and intersection projects
- Place signs, cones, and channelizers and other traffic-control devices in accordance with MUTCD and applicable state requirements
- Coordinate flagging operations and maintain a safe work zone around live traffic
